There is no one who has never even heard about goblins. Goblins are a very populous race. Since they are undemanding, they can live in like any place: even a desert or an arctic land. Thanks to their small size, they do not need big houses. Their small and agile fingers are good to hunting smaller animals and using bows. Their in-born night vision allows them can see in the darkness. They are much quicker and less noisy than the Orcs, which why is why the Orcish tribes of Brutang love employing them as scouts.

Their tribes are mostly nomadic, making a living of stealing and trading. These goblin tribes often create caravans, wandering with their products, caught monsters and slaves, intending to sell them to someone. These caravans are often followed by scouts on wolfback to provide cover and to look for villages to pillage.

Some goblins prefer to live in caves, while some prefer the forest. The cave-dwelling ones are the Night Goblins, while the forest-dwelling ones are the Wood Goblins. There is another sub-race of goblins: the Hobgoblin. The only difference between hobgoblins and other goblins is that they are taller and stronger. They make no difference between each other, so interbreeding between different goblin sub-races (wood goblin, night goblin, wood hobgoblin, night hobgoblin) is common.

The religious views of goblins are not very developed, they do not believe in gods. Instead, they worship their ancestral spirits, and offer tributes to them. Their shamans help them in it, assisting the rituals.

Gabyr and Keldorn

Currently, 95,760 Goblins live on the island that happens to be occupied by the Republic of Keldorn and the Free City of Gabyr, making up making up 25.86% of the island's population. Out of them 90,000 live in Keldorn, making up 34.75% of the republic's population, while 5,760 live in Gabyr, making up 5.17% of the city-state's population.

Both communities include a large number of slaves, albeit they are a minority in Gabyr, and a majority in Keldorn. The Goblins that live in Keldorn happen to be native to the area, predating the existence of the republic of Keldorn, and even the Free City of Gabyr, having migrated to the island during the existence of the Ancient Lizardman Empire (the Lizardmen were well-aware of the island's existence, and even mentioned on their maps that it was populated by Goblins).

After the initial drop in the Goblin population of the island that followed the foundation of Keldorn, caused by genocide, slavery and overworking, the Goblin population began growing again thanks to migration from the continent: goblins who were persecuted for their interest in the Dark Arts migrating to Keldorn, and goblin pirates, merchants and artisans settling down in Gabyr. In addition to the free settlers that moved to Gabyr, there were also quite a few goblin slaves captured by pirates, who were forcibly taken to Gabyr.

Goblin slaves primarily work in mining and construction in Keldorn, as well as being blood-cattle for the vampires. In Gabyr, the typical job of the goblin slave is shipbuilding, galley-rowing, hauling, as well as any other unpaid job that requires small hands and lots of precision.

The pre-existing Goblin community - the one that is at least eight millenia old, and has been largerly enslaved by the undead of Keldorn - traditionally used the Gaildaurn language, which is where Keldorn actually got its name from. All the goblin migrants from the first millenium BEKE and onwards (to this day) speak the Kobold language (at least, first generation immigrants do). The two are mutually unintelligible. Gaildaurn is threatened with extinction as slaves are forced to speak the language of their masters - Keldorni Etrandish - while Kobold is generally dropped by descendants of immigrants in favour of the local Gabyrian or Keldorni Etrandish.
